Christmas 2010

Christmas this year was SO much fun!!  We went to the Shaffer house on Christmas Eve and Christmas this year, having our second Christmas in Nac the next weekend. Gracin was not quite old enough to totally grasp present opening, but she loved tissue paper, unwrapped wrapping paper and the bows!  By next year, however, I am sure she will be a present opening pro.

Random Pics

I am sure I will have a lot of Christmas pictures soon, so I realized I needed to upload some recent, random pics before I do that.  Gracin is almost 9 months old now and about to crawl... but she hasn't started just yet.  However, I will be glad if that doesn't start until after Christmas because our house is anything but baby proof!

So hard to decide what headband to wear and which one to chew...

Trick or Treat!

This year for Halloween Gracin was a baby cow- and Cory was the farmer  :)

Ma and Papa, Stephanie, Chris, Braydee and Brackyn all came over Sunday night and we ate dinner.  After dinner, we all went out to trick or treat in our neighborhood.  Braydee and Brackyn were so helpful getting Gracin candy, and Braydee was so certain that as long as we "blenderized it" at home, Gracin could also eat her share of Halloween candy  :)

Pumpkin Patch

This being our first holiday season with Gracin, you have to realize I am a bit anxious to have her experience all of the "typical" holiday things.  First up- visiting a pumpkin patch.  So, we loaded up, went to a local pumpkin patch on a sunny day, and didn't get a single picture!  We made it there alright, but the sun was SO bright that Gracin wouldn't smile with the sun in her eyes. However, when I turned her around, there were shadows... and there were fire ants... and there were people walking around that were distractions for Gracin... and so on!  And as other mothers know,  that window of time for baby happiness came and went.  But, seeing my dissapointment after leaving, Cory later brought the pumpkin patch to us!  He went to get some pumpkins, picked up a haybale, and after another nap and another feeding, Gracin was as good as new.  And I have to say, I think pictures turned out great!

Happy 6 months, Gracin!

My little darling, well, my 13lb-10oz little darling is getting so big.  She has now started on rice cereal, her 6 month onsies are starting to fight just a little tight, and her first tooth has started coming up!  I think one wonderful thing about babies is that they are so amazed with anything and everything.  Gracin is so content  to just sit and watching the busy and exciting world around her.  She is also getting so good at sitting up, and believe me, cradling her in your arms like you would a little baby is no longer acceptable!  Gracin loves to sit in your lap, but she needs to be facing outwards.  We also got her a swing that we put up in the backyard which she is still a little bit too little for, but she has a great time swinging in it.  I have some pics of her first bites of rice cereal and some other new pics from the past month:

The Best Birthday Surprise!

This weekend for my birthday my parents came into town along with JENNA! Jenna flew in from North Carolina as a total surprise. So happy she was able to play with Gracin and help keep her entertained. On Saturday night while my dad was grilling dinner, we put Jenna up to the Cinnamon Challenge.....

Lazy Saturday

Today Gracin and I are having  a lazy Saturday morning while Daddy is dove hunting.  Right now we are working on Gracin's core muscles... see below she is getting better at sitting up on her own!  Now, if she leans any, she will fall- so I usually still sit very close to grab her on the way down!  Her Boppy is a very helpful tool though to assist in her sitting up supported.  And don't you just love this pjs?  One of the best parts of a baby girl- the cute clothes  :)

One of my favorite times with Gracin is right after bath time... she is so cute and snuggly!

Here is a picture of Gracin and her favorite doggy buddy, Hooch.  Now,  before you get worried about where I placed Miss Gracin, please know that Hooch is the LAZIEST dog on the planet and would never make any sudden movements to make her fall over!

Gracin also loves to pet on her Hoochie, which he also loves in return!

5 Months

Gracin turned 5 months this past Monday... and she is finally getting some baby fat but loosing her hair!  She is getting good at sitting up supported (still a little wobbly on her own) and she is grabbing at anything in her reach.  We had our first open house at her daycare which was very exciting.  On display at the open house were her first two art projects, her handprints and then another art project using her fingerprints to make an "itsy bitsy spider".  Very cute!  Ok, here are some picures from the past month...

New Pictures

This Friday Gracin will be 4 months old!

We had to take Gracin to the doctor last week due to a persistant case of the sniffles and the doctor said she was 11 lbs, 12 oz... maybe she will be close to the 12# mark this week at her four month appt!  It seem that everyday Gracin is doing something new.  She has started reaching, can lift her head off the ground during tummy time, and can sit supported.  Everyday she is such a joy to be around and so far has been such a good baby!

Big smiles

Gracin's first shoes that fit- remember jellies?

She is a little too big for this just yet so we had to stuff towels around her... excuse the strange arm in the picture!

Looking cute... I love these booties Lindsey made for her!
